Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga’s first trailer, which features father-daughter combination of Anil Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor, is out
The trailer of 'Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga' (ELKDTAL), Sonam Kapoor and her father Anil Kapoor's first film together, was released on December 27 and it caught the nation off-guard. Directed by Shelly Chopra Dhar, the film’s title may have been borrowed from the iconic romantic number from Anil Kapoor’s film '1942: A Love Story', but ELKDTAL is anything but a regular boy-meets-girl kinda romance.
From what the trailer suggests, the film is the story of a young girl Sweety (Sonam Kapoor) who has toyed with the idea of love and marriage since childhood and has grown with the belief that if love comes easy, it’s not true love. But, her father (Anil Kapoor) and other family members seem to be in a hurry to get her married with the first best match they find. When they learn that Rajkummar Rao, who appears to be her confidant, loves her - they assume that they will make a suitable match however Sonam catches them off-guard as she rejects all her suitors.
Sweety has harbored a secret close to her heart all her life and it's revealation causes her parents to turn against her. Bits from the trailer hint that she has fallen in love with a girl. Will her family allow to #LetLoveBe ?

Juhi Chawla's brief appearance in the trailer instantly brings a smile to the face. The background score and the songs really tug at your heartstrings. Overall the film looks promising.
Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga will mark Shelly Chopra Dhar's debut project as a director. The film has been produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra in association with Fox Star Studios. It releases on February 1, 2019.
