Sharing the screenshot of his tweet on Instagram, AR Rahman wrote, “Some people call me G.O.A.T …………let me be the sacrificial goat this time for all of us to wake up ..let chennai’s live art flourish with a world class infrastructure, increase in tourism, efficient crowd management,t raffic management ,refining audiences to follow rules ..creating a safe and surreal experience for children and women ..Triggering a cultural renaissance at chennai celebrating our deserving , illuminated local and international talent!”

Netizens reacted to his tweet, “Out of dissappointment, people will just talk without sense sir. Its unfair to put the blame on you on entirety.” The second one said, “Where’s the sorry in this post? Have some shame sir, you are partly responsible too, people come to watch you. It seems like it’s really difficult for you to apologise. Pathetic.” Another said, “We have always been your fans...but pls don't blame chennai's infrastructure for this... this was a sheer SCAM... the tickets were sold 10x more than the capacity...around 10k ppl couldn't enter due to space constraint... this is over booking from the event organizer's end.. pls acknowledge the mistake...”

One of the social media users said, “@arrahman kindly do not play the victim card here. The blame for all that happened yesterday rests solely on your and actc's shoulders. Chennai has excellent infrastructure to hold world class events. There have been so many successful concerts in the past few months. You simply didn't care about the logistics of the event or the capability of the organizing team. We are the sacrificial goats, to have been your fans till yesterday. Today after reading post I am ashamed to call myself your fan.”

On Sunday, AR Rahman held a concert 'Marakuma Nenjam' at Chennai’s Adityaram Palace. However, a stampede-like situation occurred when reportedly around 50,000 people came to attend the concert.

The videos from his concert are now going viral on social media. In the viral clips, netizens can be heard claiming that women have been molested, and children have been injured at the concert.
