The Indian government has warned people about the different kinds of task-based investment scams on Telegram. Cyber Dost, the government's cybersecurity awareness X handle, has asked people to watch for messages asking them to follow Instagram accounts, like YouTube videos, rate movies and review hotels in exchange for money.
It has shared a 39-second-long video on X (formerly Twitter) and asked people to report such scams by dialling 1930 to report such online fraud. It has also asked users to file complaints of any cybercrime at cybercrime.gov.in.
"Watch out for these Task-based Investment Scams on Telegram! Remember to immediately Dial1930 to report online financial fraud and file complaint of any cybercrime at http://cybercrime.gov.in," it tweeted. Check out the video here:
