Asus announces ZenWatch 3, starting at Rs 17,599

Asus has announced the new ZenWatch 3 powered by Android Wear. The watch is equipped with a smart assistant that is compatible with Android and iOS devices.

The smartwatch comes with a round case that is crafted from 316L stainless steel.

ZenWatch 3 has a 1.39-inch AMOLED display with 400 by 400 resolution and 287ppi pixel density. The display is covered with a curved 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass that supports swiping gestures.

It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor that consumes 25 percent less energy when compared to the Snapdragon 400 processor. ZenWatch 3 also features exclusive HyperCharge technology -- which the company says will give 60 percent battery life with 15 minutes of charging -- and a magnetic charging connector that snaps into place. 

An optional battery pack is also available, providing 40 percent more battery life.

The watch’s round case is 9.95mm thick and is available in two colour options: Gunmetal and Silver. ZenWatch 3 comes with a strap made from either leather or rubber.

The device comes with IP67 water resistance to protect against sweat and moisture. 

The smartwatch will be exclusively available on Flipkart.

Availability and Pricing

The dark brown variant with the gunmetal case and leather strap is available for pre-order from 23rd December 2016 for Rs 18,999.

The beige variant with the silver case and rubber strap is available for pre-order from 23rd December 2016 for Rs 17,599.

While the brownish grey variant with the gunmetal case and rubber strap will be available in January 2017 for Rs 17,599.
