Indian cricket star Virat Kohli has taken on a new role as a celebrity team owner in the E1 World Championship, the world's first all-electric powerboat series. This announcement places Kohli in the company of other renowned athletes such as Rafa Nadal, Tom Brady, Didier Drogba, and Sergio Perez, who are also team owners in the championship.

The UIM E1 World Championship represents the latest addition to environmentally responsible motorsports competitions, alongside Formula E and Extreme E. The championship is set to kick off next year in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Kohli, widely recognized as one of cricket's greatest batsmen, and sports tech entrepreneur Adi K Mishra will lead "The Blue Rising" team, a brainchild of Formula E and Extreme E founder Alejandro Agag.

Kohli, aged 34, expressed his desire to inspire a competitive spirit and raise awareness about sustainability issues, a cause he is increasingly passionate about as he builds a family. He eagerly awaits the opportunity to support the male and female pilots racing for "The Blue Rising" team.
