The 19th Asian Games 2023 have officially commenced in Hangzhou, China after a one-year postponement due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This multi-sport extravaganza, spanning 15 days, was originally scheduled for the previous year. India is gearing up to make a strong impression with a formidable contingent of 655 athletes participating in all 40 sporting events. 

The Indian rowing team will be competing in five different medal events on Sunday. In the six-boat men's lightweight double sculls Final A, the spotlight will be on Arjun Lal Jat and Arvind Singh. In the meantime, medal races will also be taking part in the Indian men's double sculls, women's coxless four, men's coxless pair, and men's coxed eight teams.

If India's women's cricket team defeats Bangladesh in the semi-finals on Sunday, they will have the opportunity to guarantee a medal. Both the men's and women's football teams will be playing at this time.

In the women's 50kg category, Indian boxer Nikhat Zareen will make her Asian Games debut against Vietnamese boxer Thi Tam Nguyen, whom she defeated in the World Championship final in March of this year.
