Even as controversies around baseline exams held in the month of September are still doing the rounds, the state education department has asked schools to conduct the next set of exams in the second week of November.
As per a Government Resolution issued on September 27, schools affiliated to the state board have to conduct the summative exams for students from class I to VIII between November 8 to 11. The GR has asked all schools to conduct exams as per the common timetable at the same time to ensure that cases of paper leaks do not take place. The exam would be conducted for First language, Maths and Science.
However, the recent GR has left teachers and students in stress as schools would struggle to conduct their own exams and the summative assessments. "Schools have just finished their baseline exams. Constant exams are serving no purpose as there is no time left to teach" said Uday Nare, teacher at Hansraj Morarji Public School.
