On May 22 around 7.30 pm, the Dombiavli police came across Dharmavijay Shedge, 50, on the road.
A robber loitering on the streets of Dombivali was caught by the police on Tuesday. When they investigated him, they learned that he was wanted in a case of dacoity in Nashik. He was handed over to Nashik police on Wednesday morning.
On May 22 around 7.30 pm, the Dombiavli police came across Dharmavijay Shedge, 50, on the road. "He seemed new to the area and his movements were suspicious. When we accosted him and questioned him about where he was headed, he was unable to provide satisfactory answers," said investigating officer L B Chavan.
He tried to escape the cops, who collared him and brought him to the police station. On further inquiry, Shedge confessed. "He told us that he was wanted in a burglary case in Nashik. On further inquiry, he told us that he had two cases of robbery against him in Mumbai but he was discharged in them," he said.
According to the cops, Shedge is one of the four accused who was wanted in the dacoity case. In April, the quartet had looted 500 g of gold and 15 kg of silver in Nashik. "All three robbers were arrested and with Shedge's arrest the case is complete."
The cops later informed the Nashik Road police who immediately left for Dombivali and took Shedge's custody at 3.30 am on May 23.
