The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has managed to complete a road work but residents are not satisfied. Colaba resdients who have been complaining of bad roads and slow pace of work, also complained of road work not being up to the mark despite the delay.
Residents slammed BMC's road work behind the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel and on the road leading to it. The roads are B K Boman Behram Marg and the junction of Henry and Mereweather Roads.
"They have completed the road work in a very haphazard manner. There is absolutely no accountability. First they do not complete the road work on time. Then they do some work during monsoon and the road work is not up to the mark," said Pervez Cooper, a resident of Colaba.
Subhash Motwani, another resident said, "The road work should have been up to the mark when they delayed the work for some time."
"There is also a small cave-in near the Metro junction. Do they want some disaster to happen before they repair? It has not been attended for over 22 days. Same is the case for the road behind Taj. They did it in monsoon and in two days, they have completed the entire patch. Public money is being wasted in a haphazard manner. Parties in power blame each other and so do officials, but we keep suffering," said Pervez Cooper.
