MS Dhoni's Chennai Super Kings have a proud record of being in the knock-out stages of every IPL that they have featured in. However, in IPL 2020, it looks like that record might be shattered following their loss to Rajasthan Royals. The seven-wicket loss has put Chennai Super Kings at the bottom of the table after 10 matches and with just six points at their disposal, they are all but out of the play-off race barring some mathematical miracle. On the other hand, the fight for the fourth spot has intensified even further with Rajasthan Royals jumping into the midst with Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders. Rajasthan Royals have a better net run-rate and if Kolkata Knight Riders lose their game to Royal Challengers Bangalore and Steve Smith's side win the next game against Sunrisers Hyderabad, they can go to the fourth spot. Even Kings XI Punjab are in the race after their win over Mumbai Indians but they face a tough task against Delhi Capitals. A win for Delhi Capitals in their next game will see them become the first team to qualify for the play-offs. Mumbai Indians need to win their next two games followed by Royal Challengers Bangalore. Delhi Capitals can seal their play-off spot and also knock Kings XI Punjab out of the equation if they win their next game.

Teams Matches Won Lost Points Net Run-Rate
Delhi Capitals 9 7 2 14 0.921
Mumbai Indians 9 6 3 12 1.201
Royal Challengers Bangalore 9 6 3 12 -0.096
