Star Indian allrounder Hardik Pandya managed to achieve a unique feat during Mumbai Indians' 8-wicket loss against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the IPL 2020 on Sunday (October). Hardik, who is widely renowned for his power-hitting and explosive display with the bat, was in top touch against RR and played a lightning 21-ball 60 innings for the Mumbai side.

During his stormy knock, the allrounder struck four sixes in one over. RR skipper Steve Smith gave the ball to Ankit Rajput in search of a breakthrough but Pandya shot the Indian pacer for four maximums in his six deliveries. This was also the second time that Hardik managed to do strike four sixes in an over in the IPL which makes him the first Indian player in the league to do so.

Opting to bat first, Mumbai Indians did not get off to a good start as opener Quinton de Kock (6) was clean bowled by Jofra Archer in the very first over of the innings. Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav then got together at the crease and the duo bought the innings back on track for Mumbai Indians.

Both batsmen put on 83 runs for the second wicket, however, Rajasthan finally broke the partnership as Kartik Tyagi dismissed Kishan (37) in the 11th over, reducing Mumbai to 90/2. Jofra Archer produced one of the best catches of the tournament so far to dismiss Kishan. Archer in the deep had initially misjudged the catch but he recovered well to leap and grab the catch at third man.

Rajasthan Royals then staged a comeback as the side dismissed Suryakumar Yadav (40) and Kieron Pollard (6) in quick succession, reducing Mumbai Indians to 101/4 in the 13th over. In the final four overs, Mumbai Indians smashed 74 runs. Tiwary (34) was dismissed in the penultimate over by Archer, but Hardik marched on to take Mumbai`s total past the 190-run mark.

Hardik Pandya brought up his half-century off just 20 balls. Hardik Pandya, in the end, remained unbeaten on 60 runs off just 21 balls.  Coming in to chase, while knowing Rajasthan and their form outside Sharjah, it was known that Mumbai could win this clash, however, Stokes proved all wrong. He came in to bat along with Robin Uthappa and started off on a good note.

While Uthappa got out for 13, it was till then that Stokes had no runs to his name. But soon, his gears shifted and he started to stitch runs along with captain Steve Smith. The skipper, however, was sent back by fellow Australian James Pattinson for 11. Stokes, did not, however, stop and was joined in the middle by Sanju Samson.

The left-handed Stokes led the assault and Samson followed suit. 107 for 2 after 12 overs soon became 172 for 2 after 16 overs. Stokes not only scored this season's maiden IPL fifty but also smashed a century. Samson too reached his half-century as the duo put on 100+ runs partnership.
