In a shocking incident, a 32-year-old man was on Monday allegedly shot dead by the brothers of a Samajwadi Party MLA Jagram Paswan, for overtaking their vehicle.
According to media reports, the incident took place on Saturday night in Balrampur-Gonda region, while the victim was returning after attending a marriage ceremony.
The family members of the victim Jairam Yadav have filed an FIR against Annu Paswan, Pappu Paswan and Angad Paswan.
The accused are now untraceable and eight teams are out to nab them, reported Hindustan Times, quoting Balrampur SP Pradeep Kumar Yadav.
Samajwadi Party is in power in the state which will elect a new Assembly in 2017.
The incident took place when Jairam’s vehicle collided with a jeep coming in the opposite direction on Saturday night, while on his way back from Gonda. A heated exchange ensued, resulting in the Paswan brothers allegedly assaulting Jairam and ultimately shooting him when he resisted, according to the police.
