Business leader Kiran Mazumdar Shaw of Chairman and Managing Director of Biocon, has caught herself up in a bit of a controversy on Friday after she tweeted against the Karnataka Bandh last night which is taking over the Cauvery water dispute between the state and Tamil Nadu. She later deleted that tweet.
She had tweeted saying, " Yes we should rename our city as Bandhluru," She tweeted again saying, "Another Bandh - it's now Bandhaluru where bandhs are affecting productivity - what a sad situation where farmers on both sides can't share."
However after facing a backlash, she deleted the tweet. She later tweeted, "Karnataka's needs come first from Cauvery. Karnataka's needs must be addressed first from Cauvery and hope both state governments can resolve this long dispute amicably. We are observing Bandh in solidarity with people n farmers of Karnataka who are facing water challenges. Hope the two states resolve dispute amicably"
