Pakistan's nexus with jihadi groups has been exposed after investigations into the recent infiltration. Probe revealed that four of the five Kashmiri terrorists killed along the Line of Control (LoC) had travelled to the neighbouring country in the past three months to train in arms on a valid visa through Wagah.

Investigations revealed that two of the five terrorists killed in Tangdhar sector on May 26 were local Kashmiris. Mudasir Ahmad Bhat from Kulgam and Sheeraz Ahmad Sheikh from Pulwama in south Kashmir had travelled to Pakistan on a valid visa. Both had undergone arms training in the country before infiltrating with a group of terrorists.

Similarly, two of the three militants killed in Machil sector on June 6, turned out to be Kashmiris who had travelled to Pakistan on valid travel documents. Zahid Rashid Bhat of Yaripora in Kulgam and Nisar Ahmad Bhat of Shangus in Anantnag of South Kashmir had also received arms training before infiltrating into Kashmir.

The new trend of sending Kashmiri youth for arms training on valid visas has set the alarm bells ringing among security establishments in the restive Jammu and Kashmir

"It is a new trend. Obviously, they (Pakistan embassy in New Delhi) are giving the visas," Shesh Paul Vaid, Director General of Police, Jammu and Kashmir, told DNA.

What has added a new dimension to the whole saga is that after travelling to Pakistan, the Kashmiri youth dump their passports and visas before infiltrating.

"Earlier, they were entering from Wagah only. When it came to our notice, we tightened security measures in the area," said Vaid.

Close on the heels of the new developments, the security agencies have taken measures to foil the designs to lure Kashmiri youth. "It is being taken care of by the concerned agencies," said the DGP.

Official figures reveal that 133 infiltration attempts have been made along the Indo-Pakistan border in Jammu and Kashmir till June 2018. Around 14 terrorists have been killed during these bids. One security force personnel was also killed and two others were injured while foiling the infiltration attempts.

Meanwhile, considering the pattern of infiltration attempts in the past four weeks, J&K Governor NN Vohra stressed the need of heightened vigil along the International Border and LoC, to ensure the safety of protected persons and the security of all important establishments and installations.
