After Kevin Spacey, it is now Morgan Freeman who has been accused of sexual harassing female colleagues, CNN has reported.

CNN spoke to 16 women – each of whom had worked with Freeman, now 80, in different projects. Eight of them all alleged that the actor, famous for movies such as The Showshank Redemption, the Christopher Nolan Batman trilogy, and Invictus among others, inappropriately touched them and commented on their bodies.

One of the women told the news daily that Freeman ‘kept trying to lift up my skirt and asking if I was wearing underwear."

Four people who worked in production capacities on movie sets with Freeman over the last ten years described him as repeatedly behaving in ways that made women feel uncomfortable at work.

The news channel, however, reached out to dozens more people who worked for or with Freeman. Some praised Freeman, saying they never witnessed any questionable behavior or that he was a consummate professional on set and in the office.

“Several other times during this investigation, when a CNN reporter contacted a person who had worked with Freeman to try to ask them if they had seen or been subjected to inappropriate behavior by an actor they had worked with -- not initially even naming the actor they were asking about -- the person would immediately tell them they knew exactly who the reporter had in mind: Morgan Freeman,” the report added.

Earlier, actor Kevin Spacey and producer Harvey Weinsten had been accused of sexual misconduct.

Addressing the allegations made against him, the American Beauty star took to Twitter to post a note apologising for his 'drunken behaviour' 30 years ago. In a note, Spacey wrote that he owes the sincerest apology and he is 'sorry for the feelings he describes having carried with him these years.'

However, in the Weinstein case, the New York City Police Department (NYPD) has recently sent its two detectives to Los Angeles for investigation. He is yet to be arrested.
