Back in 2006, Nana Patekar started working on a film which was also supposed to mark the big screen debut of Kajal Aggarwal. However, the film got delayed and while Nana was seen in his comic superhit Welcome (2007), Kajal made her debut with Telugu film Lakshmi Kalyanam (2007) instead.

Now many years down the line, the film is ready to make it to the theaters. Titled Final Cut, it also features Arjun Sarja as another lead protagonist. "Not many are aware that the film is basically the dubbed version of Tamil flick Bommalattam," informs our source, "No one is revealing it yet and the film is instead being showcased as a Hindi film. However, the original was actually released way back in 2008, but there was no hype created around it in the Hindi speaking belt."

When released, the dramatic thriller was a good success down South. Directed by veteran filmmaker Bharathiraja, who has to his credit 40 odd films with the prominent Hindi ones being Sridevi's Solva Sawan and Rajesh Khanna's Red Rose, the film features Nana Patekar as a film director. "Though the film also features Rukmini Vijayakumar as the leading lady, it is being promoted as a Kajal-starrer due to her visibility in the all-India belt post Singham and Special 26," an insider adds, "Moreover, with Nana being in the thick of things post the success of Welcome Back, the film is aiming to ride on his popularity." One waits to see if the audience is as excited as well.
