Jennifer Lopez says she isn't familiar with Cheryl Cole's work

Cheryl Cole's hopes for a US TV career suffered yet another blow after Jennifer Lopez admitted she knows little about her.

Lopez, 41, replaced Simon Cowell on American Idol this year after he left to start an American version of The X Factor.

Cole, 27, has been lobbying for months to be a judge on X Factor USA but TV executives are worried the Geordie lass isn’t famous enough outside the UK to attract viewers.

“Someone mentioned Cheryl to me yesterday. She’s a singer, right? I don’t know much about her and I don’t know her music. But I would be happy to learn,” the Daily Express quoted Lopez as saying.
