Amid a call for the cancellation of CBSE Class 10, 12 board exam 2021 due to rising cases of COVID-19, the Central Board of Secondary Education and Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) have maintained that the exams will be conducted as per the schedule.

The boards have assured that adequate safety arrangements are in place for students and all COVID-19 guidelines will be followed during the exams.

Students demand cancellation of exams

A section of students are requesting the government to cancel board exams, while others are asking for the examinations to be conducted online. Taking to Twitter, several students rallied together using #cancelboardexams2021 to protest against the upcoming examinations which will be held via offline mode. 

Board says exams to go ahead as planned

CBSE has reiterated that the examinations will be conducted as per the schedule. The board has made it clear that students will not face any trouble in appearing for the CBSE Class 10, 12 Board Exams 2021 as all COVID-19 guidelines will be followed during the exams.

Measures for safety of students

CBSE has said that the board is taking ample measures to conduct board exams 2021 amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Students who could not appear for the practical exams for classes 10 or 12 will be given a second chance.

More exam centres for students

To ensure social distancing during the Class 10 and Class board exams, the Central Board of Secondary Education has increased the number of examination centres across India and abroad. This comes amid the demand from students to cancel the board exams in wake of the rising cases of COVID-19 in India. The board has added as many as 2,500 more centres to conduct Class 10 and 12 board exams.

What if a student tests COVID-19 positive during CBSE Board Exam 2021?

The CBSE in its latest circular has said that "if any candidate is absent in practical because of being COVID positive or any family member reported COVID positive, the school will conduct the practical exams of such candidates at an appropriate time in consultation with the concerned regional office but latest by June 11."
