Close save for 7-year-old in Bilaspur mishap

A seven-year-old daughter of the couple, who were trapped inside their temporary house in Bilaspur area of Dankaur which collapsed on Friday night, had a narrow escape as minutes before the collapse she had gone in the open area to drink water.

According to the police, the couple had seven kids including six daughters who also escaped the mishap as they were away.

"At the time of the incident, four of their daughters had gone to a relative's place for a wedding function, while a son and a daughter were also out for some work. Their one seven-year-old daughter was with them at home last night.

However, just minutes before the collapse, she had got up to drink water. After which she was sitting in the open area of the house," said Farmood Ali Pundir, Station House Officer of Dankaur police station.

Police said that prima facie it appears that the house collapsed because of its poor construction material.
