The cricket matches between India and Pakistan have been marked by numerous intense moments throughout the years. Given the deep-rooted rivalry between these two sides, emotions tend to run high whenever they face off on the field. However, it is worth noting that the last bilateral series between these two teams took place in 2013, and since then, their encounters have been limited to continental and ICC competitions.

During the 2012-13 series, an incident occurred that captured the attention of fans and pundits alike. It involved Kamran Akmal, a former star player from Pakistan, and Ishant Sharma, a seasoned Indian fast bowler. The two found themselves embroiled in a heated exchange, which threatened to escalate tensions on the field. Fortunately, the situation was defused thanks to the timely intervention of MS Dhoni, the Indian captain, and Suresh Raina, another prominent player.

During a T20I match in Bengaluru, tensions escalated as both players engaged in a heated verbal altercation. Reflecting on this incident, Akmal revealed that while Ishant instigated the confrontation, he too retaliated with strong words.

“Ishant abused me. He said one bad word, in return he received 20. I'm honest here. We had our flight to Ahmedabad next day, there was a T20I match. I, Virat (Kohli), Shoaib Malik, Hafeez were sitting. Somebody asked, what exactly happened between you two. Ishant said after bowling, I just said a bad word to him. Everybody said, you deserved it coming!” Akmal said during a podcast with Roha Nadym for Cricwick.

“It turned out to be serious. But thankfully, Dhoni, the captain cool, then Raina also interfered. They knew who was at fault, so they settled the situation, otherwise it would've been worse. I could've been banned for two matches, penalized for 5 match fees. It was pretty serious,” he added.
