The match took place at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on a memorable Sunday.

Winning the toss, Sri Lankan skipper Dasun Shanaka elected to bat, only to be met with a formidable challenge posed by Siraj. With an impressive figure of 6 for 21 in just 7 overs, Siraj spearheaded the Indian attack, dismantling the Sri Lankan batting lineup. His exceptional performance led to the opposition being bundled out for a mere 50 runs. Notably, Siraj achieved the remarkable feat of claiming his first five wickets in a mere 16 balls, a joint record in the history of One Day International cricket.
