MUMBAI: Godrej & Boyce-promoted Geometric Software plans to set up an additional engineering centre in China as well as a new one in Brazil as part of its strategy to expand geographies.

Chief executive officer Ravi Gopinath said the company has not fixed a time frame for setting up these centres. “We already have an engineering centre in China. This will be scaled up. An additional centre in China and a new location in Brazil are being planned, but no time frame has been fixed yet,” he said.

The company is reportedly eyeing Sao Paolo to set up a proximity centre in Brazil. The China centre in Shanghai came into Geometric’s fold by virtue of its acquisition of US’ Modern Engineering last quarter. Now, Geometric is looking at setting up another centre there.

Both centres are likely to serve as locations for near-shore delivery capabilities. From Brazil, US and Canada could be served, while Japan could be served from China.
