Recently, Former cricketer Virender Sehwag watched Ghoomer and felt that Saiyami Kher and Abhishek Bachchan's acting will definitely leave the audience in tears.
Abhishek Bachchan and Saiyami Kher's movie Ghoomer has finally hit the screens. Former cricketer Virender Sehwag shared his perspective on Twitter after watching the sports drama helmed by R Balki. He claims that the movie really moved him.
Amitabh Bachchan reposted Sehwag's video on Instagram with the caption in Hindi, "Sehwag ji...You have said such a big thing in such simple words. My gratitude and love." Sehwag took to his social media and shared his heartfelt thoughts on the movie, "Bahut dino baad cricket ki picture dekhke bahut anand aaya. Kyunki isme cricket to hai but emotion bhi hai (I loved it and enjoyed watching a cricket film after so long. It not just has cricket but emotions too)." He also loved the way a cricketer's struggles, especially an injured cricketer's struggles were portrayed in the film.
Focusing on Saiyami Kher's character in Ghoomer, he explained, "Main vaise spinner ko respect nai deta hun. Magar Saiyami Kher ne jo ghoomer daali hai vo lajawab hai. Ye role bahut hi mushkil tha but unhone emotional kar diya (I never respect a spinner but the way Saiyami has spun the ball was amazing)."
Then, he went on to say, "Vaise main coach ki bhi nai sunta tha, magar Abhishek Bachchan ne aisi acting ki hai ki aapko unki baat zaroor sunni padegi (I never listened to my coach but the way Abhishek has acted, you will have to listen to him)."
The cricketer concluded by recommending the film to the public, "18 August ko Ghoomer zaroor dekho, family ke saath. Aur inspire ho jao. Jaise bachchan sahab ne kaha, vaise main bhi keh raha hun. 'I Love this game'. Dher saare aansu bhi leke jaana kyunki aapko rulayegi bhi. (Watch Ghoomer on August 18 and get inspired. And just Like Amitabh Bachchan has said, I am also saying, ‘I love this game’. Take along several tears as well as it will make you cry)." The overall emotional experience, combined with the strong plot sequences has led Sehwag to appreciate the film a lot.
Ghoomer is a sports drama, directed by R. Balki. The movie has Saiyami Kher who plays a cricketer who loses her right hand and has to overcome her adversity. She is guided by her coach, who is played by Abhishek Bachchan.
