Sridevi’s mortal remains are expected to arrive in Mumbai today afternoon
Legendary actress Sridevi passed away on Saturday night in Dubai following a massive cardiac arrest. Her husband Boney Kapoor and other family members have been trying to get her mortal remains to Mumbai.
While several reports suggested that the family will arrive in Mumbai by Sunday afternoon, the formalities took longer than expected due to forensic department taking time to finish the autopsy. Now as per latest update, the mortal remains will be brought by the family later today to Mumbai. According to an IANS report, industrialist Anil Ambani has sent his private jet to bring back the body of the megastar to India.
“Boney Kapoor, Jhanvi, Khushi and the entire Kapoor, Ayyappan and Marwah family is deeply bereaved and shocked with the untimely loss of Sridevi Kapoor. They thank the entire media for their prayers, support and sensitivity during their time of grief. Late Sridevi Kapoor’s body will arrive in India tomorrow. We will update you on all further information as and when it’s available to us,” read the official statement yesterday.
Meanwhile, well-wishers arrived at Anil Kapoor’s house last night. Karan Johar, Rekha, Rani Mukerji, Annu Kapoor, Anupam Kher, Neelima Azim, Vaibhavi Merchant were spotted entering the building last night. Arjun Kapoor, who was shooting in Amritsar for Namaste England also rushed to the city and was spotted at Anil’s house. Anil and Sonam Kapoor, who were in Chandigarh for Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga also reached Mumbai yesterday evening.
