Long before Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan hit the screens and created a frenzy at the box office, the film was very highly anticipated. Ever since the film’s title was announced last year, there was a certain level of anticipation and expectation around the film. The Jawan theme, composed by Anirudh Ravichander, helped drive this craze. At the heart of the background score and the theme has been the now-iconic whistle. Let us introduce you to the man behind that whistle and how he came to be associated with the Atlee film.

Man behind Jawan’s whistle

The Jawan theme, which developed into the title track has vocals from Anirudh and a rap written and performed by Raja Kumari. But it all starts with the whistle, which has been performed by musician and sound engineer Vinay Sridhar. The song’s official video credits Vinay as the man behind the whistle right alongside the other two performers.

Who is Vinay Sridhar?

Vinay Sridhar is a freelance sound mixing engineer, who has worked in a number of Bollywood and Tamil films in a career that stretches back to 2014. Among his credits include Bollywood hits like Highway, Tamasha, Mom and Tamil films like Lingaa, Vedalam, Mersal, Petta, Master, and Jailer. He has worked with composers like AR Rahman and Anirudh multiple times in the past. Jawan music and box office

Jawan’s music has been appreciated, particularly its background score, both of which have been composed by Anirudh. The film, directed by Atlee, has songs in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, all three languages in which it has been released in theatres. Since hitting the screens last Thursday, Jawan has minted over Rs 500 crore worldwide, breaking several collection records in the process.
