DNA Exclusive: Resul Pookutty's film to be based on India-China clash in times of COVID-19, Alia Bhatt in talks for lead

A few days back Oscar winner sound designer turned producer Resul Pookutty had announced their maiden production that demands actress Alia Bhatt to essay the role of the lead girl. Now we have more news that the plot is about the India-China war based in times of COVID-19.

The film, which is an untold story of an Indian solider Baba Harbhajhan Singh, is also produced by Avi Raj. It is also linked to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent Leh-Ladakh visit. As the PM addressed the army, the only female soldier who attended the event is synonymous to the protagonist of the film. The untitled project is a love saga set at the backdrop of Indo-China war took place in 1967 at Nathula.

However, more details on the upcoming movie are still under wraps. But, if sources are to be believed, the film will highlight the current scenario at the Indo-China border keeping all the aspects of COVID-19 intact. The Indo-China clash in the film is based in 2021.

Talking about the project, Resul Pookutty said, “The current tension between India and China is already a part of our film. It is bizarre that we had already written it and it just happened. I believe that Baba is there guarding our border. Our script is almost ready. We will take it to Army officials and get their feedback.”

Meanwhile, producer Avi Raj added, “It was such a delightful sight to see the only female soldier to attend the summit where PM Modi ji addressed Army officials in his recent visit to Leh-Ladakh. Our film is also about a girl, who saves the Indian soldiers at the border. We are absolutely thrilled and excited for the project.”
