Cannes 2018: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan makes a strong case for shimmer in this Rami Kadi gown

For her second red-carpet appearance at the Cannes Film Festival this year, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan opted for a shimmery, icy-hued, off-shouldered Rami Kadi couture gown. With just two diamond dots on her ears and hair tied in a sleek samurai style top-knot, Aishwarya looked like a million bucks. 

The neck-line sure reminded us of Priyanka Chopra's Ralph and Russo ensemble from Academy Awards, last year. But, then it was just the neckline.  Aishwarya's trail and the chock-a-block print on PCee's dress made for two prominent differences. 

With her last red-carpet look, the 44-year-old actress proved why she will always remain the poster girl of Cannes. On Saturday, Aishwarya won hearts with a butterfly-inspired Michael Cinco gown and today she ended her 17th appearance at the Cannes on a high note with this shimmery number. 

Aishwarya surely made a strong case for sequins and all things sparkle, throughout her journey. Starting with her azure Manish Arora maxi-dress, the Swarowski embellished ulra-violet gown, to now this Rami Kadi ensemble - if there's one thing that was common in all the three costumes, then it was the shimmer.  

Aishwarya will now hand over her brand ambassador duties to newly-married Sonam Kapoor, who is scheduled to walk the red-carpet on May 14 and 15.
