Ayushmann Khurrana recalls going through ups and downs 'wrecking self doubt', pens emotional note on his 39th birthday

As Ayushmann Khurrana turned 39 on Thursday, the actor shared a fan-edit video, summarising his journey on his Instagram, and penned a heartfelt note. On Instagram, Ayushmann shared a video that consists of clips from his first television stint with Roadies to his career in Bollywood with movies such as Vicky Donar, Dum Laga Ke Haisa, Bala, Andhadhun, Dream Girl and the recent Dream Girl 2. The video also consists of moments from his first Bollywood awards, receiving the National Award for Andhadun, and getting featured in Time Magazine

Sharing the video, Ayushmann recalled how his journey had many ups and downs, and how he overcame self-doubt and other obstacles in his career. Thanking his fans for the constant support, he wrote, "It’s been a life full of tests, many ups and downs, days and nights of wrecking self-doubt. But here I am. Still standing. Still believing. Thanks to everyone who has loved me unconditionally. Thank you for making my birthday special."

Recently, Ayushmann tasted success at the box office with Dream Girl 2. Before this film, Ayushmann had faced downfall with back-to-back failures such as Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui, Anek, An Action Hero, and Doctor G. From 2017 to 2019, Ayushmann gave consecutive hits such as Bareilly Ki Barfi, Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, Andhadhun, Badhaai Ho, Article 15, Bala, Dream Girl, and Bala.

Ayushmann Khurrana and Ananya Panday's romantic comedy Dream Girl 2 was released in the theatres on Friday, August 25, and on its second Saturday, September 2, the film crossed the coveted Rs 100 crore mark worldwide, owing to the positive word-of-mouth from the audiences.

Apart from Ayushmann and Ananya, Dream Girl 2 features Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Vijay Raaz, Manjot Singh, Abhishek Banerjee, Manoj Joshi, and Annu Kapoor in prominent roles. Raaj Shaandilyaa, who helmed the prequel in his directorial debut, has also directed Dream Girl 2 produced by Shobha Kapoor and Ektaa R Kapoor under their banner Balaji Motion Pictures.
