After complaining of mild chest pain last weekend, actor and filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has been admitted to a hospital in Mumbai. As per reports, the 'AK vs AK' director underwent an angioplasty and is stable now.

The filmmaker's spokesperson revealed that the reports had revealed a few blockages in his heart and consequently, Anurag was immediately admitted for surgery. As per reports, the actor-filmmaker is currently recuperating.

Anurag's spokesperson told Midday, "Late last week, Anurag complained of discomfort and decided to get it checked at the earliest. Angiography revealed a few blockages in his heart. He was immediately admitted for surgery."

The spokesperson added Anurag has been advised a week’s rest before he can resume work.

Recently, Anurag was in the news when his daughter Aaliyah Kashyap opened up about her relationship with her parents and said that she keeps them in loop about her “experiments” as a teenager, which also includes drinking alcohol.

"My parents are like my best friends. My parents, when I was growing up, always wanted to have a relationship where it was more like friendship rather than this strict parent-child relationship because that way, I wouldn’t be sneaking around doing stuff. Obviously, all teenagers experiment with stuff like alcohol and stuff like that, but I was always very open with my parents when I did anything like that. Because, I mean, it’s normal. I am not going to lie and say I didn’t drink as a teenager. Of course, I did, I do. But I was open with my parents and I was responsible when I was doing it,” she said in a YouTube video on her channel.

On the work front, Anurag has 'Dobaaraa' in the pipeline. For the film, Anurag will be seen reuniting with actress Taapsee Pannu after 'Manmarziyaan'. The film will also star Pavail Gulati in the lead role. The team had wrapped up the shooting of the sci-fi thriller in March earlier this year.
