Bollywood actor Chunky Panday lost his mother, Snehlata Pandey on Saturday (July 10). The family’s friends from the film fraternity expressed their condolences. On Sunday (July 11), Chunky’s daughter and actress Ananya Panday penned an emotional note to mourn her grandmother’s demise.
Ananya took to her Instagram to share a series of throwback photos featuring herself, her grandmother, her sister Rysa Panday, and her cousins Ahaan Panday and Alanna Panday. One photo also featured her father, Chunky and uncle Chikki Panday.
While sharing the photo, Ananya also penned a heartfelt note for her ‘angel’ dadi who always inspired her. Ananya also talked about how her dadi worked every day and lived a long life, despite being born with a defective heart valve.
“Rest in power, my angel when she was born the doctors said she wouldn’t live beyond a few years because of a defected heart valve, but my Dadi lived and how. She worked every day up until the age of 85, going to work at 7 am in her block heels and red streaked hair. She inspired me every single day to do what I love and I’m so grateful to have grown up basking in her energy and light. She had the softest hands to hold, gave the best leg massages, she was a self proclaimed (and very politically incorrect) palm reader and never ever failed to make me laugh. The life of our family. You’re too loved to ever be forgotten Dadi - I love you so much,” she wrote in her post.
Ananya's friends and fans sent love and prayers her way. Navya Naveli Nanda, Shanaya Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar, Mrunal Thakur, Manish Malhotra, Pulkit Samrat, Ishaan Khattar, Karishma Kapoor and Maheep Kapoor among others dropped hearts in the comments.
Ananya’s grandmother passed away on July 10 at the age of 85. Chunky Panday, his wife Bhavana Panday and their daughter arrived at his late mother’s residence. In photos clicked by the paparazzi, Ananya could be seen breaking down after her tragic loss. Celebrities such as Neelam Kothari, Samir Soni, Seema Khan, Deanne Panday and Sohail Khan’s son Nirvaan Khan arrived to pay their last respects.
