Ranveer Singh is at the receiving end of hate comments for replacing Shah Rukh Khan as Don. The OG Don star Zeenat Aman extended her support to Ranveer.
After Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan, Ranveer Singh will step in the shoes of Don, and he will be taking ahead the story of the underworld king with a new vision. Don 3 is touted to be the beginning of a new era, but sadly the announcement teaser of the movie has met with negative-to-mixed responses.
A major section of netizens expressed their disappointment in Ranveer replacing Amitabh and Shah Rukh as the titular crime lord. However, the OG Don actress Zeenat Aman has extended her support to Ranveer and wished him good luck for the upcoming film. On Thursday, Ranveer Singh shared a collage of his childhood photos and revealed that Don is one of his characters. Zeenat noticed Ranveer's post, and she dropped a comment, "Congratulations, Ranveer! May you find a worthy 'jungly billi' to your Don."

On Thursday, Ranveer took to Instagram, sharing two childhood pictures of himself, posing with glasses and a toy gun. Reacting to the Don 3 announcement, Ranveer wrote, “Gosh! I’ve been dreaming about doing this for a very, very long time! As a child I fell in love with the movies, and like the rest of us, watching and worshipping Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan - the two G.O.A.Ts of Hindi Cinema. I dreamed of growing up to be like them. They are the very reason I wanted to become an actor and a ‘hindi film hero’. Their impact and influence on my life cannot be overstated. They’ve shaped the person and actor that I am. Taking their legacy forward is a manifestation of my childhood dream.”
The actor also thanked the director Farhan and the producer Ritesh Sidhwani for the opportunity. “Thank you Farhan and Ritesh for entrusting me with this honourable mantle and believing in me. I hope I can deliver on your faith and conviction. My two supernovas, The Big B and SRK, I hope I can make you proud. And my beloved audience, as always, I promise you…that I will do my very best to entertain you...in and as...’Don’. Thank you for your love,” he added. Don 3 is slated for a 2025 release.
