Veteran Television and film actor Shrivallabh Vyas is no more.
The 60 year old actor who made his presence felt in the role of Ishwar kaka in Aamir Khan's multi-starrer film, Lagaan breathed his last on Sunday morning after battling with prolonged illness. His last rites took place in Jaipur last evening.
According to reports, Vyas suffered a brain stroke while shooting for a film in Gujarat in 2008. He fell in the toilet and was found in a pool of blood the next morning. The actor had gone through a surgery but since then he had been paralysed. The actor's wife Shobha had reportedly approached the Cine and TV Artists Association (CINTAA) for financial assistance but was disappointed with the amount that was offered to her. Vyas’s co-actors Irrfan Khan, Manoj Bajpayee and Aamir Khan came forward to help his family, report in Hindustan Times added.
Vyas had played character roles in a number of films and will always be remembered for his performance in Sarfarosh, Shool, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose: The Forgotten Hero and Abhay
From filmmaker Ashoke Pandit to his co-star in Lagaan, B-town took to Twitter to mourn Vyas' demise.
