Here is the exchange value that Apple is offering if you wish to trade in your old iPhone 14 Pro and upgrade to the iPhone 15 Pro.
Apple recently unveiled its much awaited iPhone 15 series at the "Wonderlust" event. Indian customers now have access to pricing information, and pre-orders have already started. However, be ready for some disappointing trade-in values if you intend to trade in your old iPhone 14 Pro for the iPhone 15 Pro.
In India, the cost of the entry-level iPhone 15 Pro with 128GB of storage is Rs. 1,34,900. The trade-in value that Apple is offering for the old iPhone 14 Pro, which costed Rs 1,79,900 for the 1TB edition before the iPhone 15 Pro's launch, is only Rs 64,500 .
This trade-in value represents just 35.85% of the original purchase price, a significant drop for iPhone enthusiasts. It's crucial to note that Apple's website specifies that this Rs 64,500 value applies to a phone in mint condition, free of significant cracks, chips, and scratches.
Even if you attempt to trade in your iPhone 14 Pro for other iPhone 15 series models, including the iPhone 15 Pro Max or the standard iPhone 15 models, the maximum trade-in value for the 1TB iPhone 14 Pro remains Rs 64,500. Apple explicitly mentions on its website that the highest trade-in value for any of the new iPhone is Rs 67,800. Thus, even if you exchange a top-end iPhone 14 Pro Max 1TB unit, you'll still receive only Rs 67,800.
Trade-in values for other iPhone 14 Pro variants, such as the 256GB model, are equally disappointing. For example, Apple would offer Rs 58,000 for an iPhone 14 Pro Max 256GB variant, which originally retailed for Rs 1,49,900, representing just 38.69% of the manufacturer's suggested retail price.
While the iPhone 15 series will hit Indian stores on September 22, those considering upgrading may be less than thrilled with the trade-in values for their previous devices.
