The IPL spot-fixing scandal in May this year left the Rajasthan Royals team shocked. Sreesanth, Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan, three players from the Jaipur-based franchise were booked by the Delhi and Mumbai police for fixing.
The team managed to finish third in the IPL as the shadow of fixing even fell on other team members and co-owner Raj Kundra for betting.
At the Champions League T20, the Rajasthan Royals who are captained by former Indian skipper Rahul Dravid are seeking another title after their inaugural IPL win under Shane Warne's guidance.
Playing at their fortress, the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur the Rajasthan Royals have looked invincible. But behind the well-balanced team and the urge to win is the purpose of Rahul Dravid who is looking to help his team emerge from the shadows of the IPL scandal that rocked the side.
The team has been spot on with their bowling and batting; also the are enjoying a purple patch with an unbeaten run. The Jaipur team has now made the semi-finals with ease and look well and truly like the team to beat unless MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings who are also playing have their way.
Interestingly, both the Rajasthan and Chennai teams were the worst affected by the IPL spot-fixing and betting scams.
Whether Dravid succeeds in ending his IPL career with a bang and a CLT20 title will be known on Sunday, but the way his team has performed so far the captain can be proud that his men have risen above the odds and played some incredible cricket earning the respect of fans.
