DY Patil ‘B’ registered a six-wicket win over Reliance One at the University Ground in a Group A league encounter of the DY Patil T20 cricket tournament on Wednesday.

It was the second loss for Reliance One, which has put them out of contention for a quarterfinal slot. In another match, Kerala Cricket Association lost to Air India, Delhi , with just a ball to spare.

Put in to bat, Reliance One lost their captain Shikhar Dhawan (0) in the first over. A 69-run stand in 50 balls between Yogesh Nagar (52) and Murtuza Ali (25) helped the visitors get back into the match, but the rest of the batsmen could not add much and they only managed to score 169 for nine.

For the hosts, opener Bravish Shetty (56) and wicketkeeper batsman Satyajit Satbhai (40) put up a 97-run stand in 52 balls for the second wicket. Both fell in a space of five balls after the hosts reached 101 in the 11th over. Reliance One’s hope of a comeback was dashed as Yogesh Pawar (34) guided DY Patil ‘B’ to their second consecutive win.
