From today (September 1, 2021), PF rule changes for EPFO subscribers. The PF account holders need to link their accounts with their Aadhaar cards. If one fails to do so, the EPF benefits will be curtailed for the user.

If a PF account is not linked to the Aadhaar number, or the UAN is not Aadhaar verified, then its ECR-Electronic Challan cum Return will not be filled. This means, while employees will be able to see their own contribution towards the PF account, they will not be able to get the employer's share.

How to link your PF account with your Aadhaar number?

While the deadline to link Aadhaar number with your PF account was August 31, if you still have not done the same, here is your step-by-step guide to link the two:

Step 1: Go to the official website of EPFO, epfindia.gov.in

Step 2: Go to Online Services and click on the E-KYC Portal option

Step 3: Give your UAN and Aadhaar-linked phone number

Step 4: Fill out all the details and click on the 'Generate OTP' option

Step 5: Enter the OTP you received on your phone

After this, your EPF-Aadhaar seeding process will be completed and your UAN will successfully be linked with your Aadhaar number.
