After the recent question paper leak of Bachelor of Management Studies, the University of Mumbai has decided to make its norms more stringent to prevent similar cases in the future. Considering a large number of commerce students will appear for their fifth-semester exams from Monday, the University has issued a notification with fresh guidelines, giving precautions to affiliated colleges.

As per the guidelines, after the examination begins, the students cannot leave the exam center until the first hour is up. In case the student wishes to leave within the first half-an-hour, the supervisors have been instructed to collect the answer sheets as well as question papers from students. College principals have been asked to maintain the question paper's confidentiality before the examination begins.

VN Magare, principal of Kirti College and acting Pro Vice-Chancellor, said, "The university wants to ensure that the process is error-free and smooth which is why we have issued these guidelines.'

The third-year Bachelor of Commerce fifth-semester examination commences from November 20, and 78,000 students are expected to appear for them.
