Ahire said that several innocent villagers of Reinpada were afraid of returning home for the fear of being arrested. "We are concerned about the future of the students who are not attending the classes for the last one week. They had left the village with their parents fearing harassment. The agricultural activities have also come to a standstill. Only the ailing and old are left behind in the village (Reinpada)," said Ahire.

S Ramkumar, superintendent of police, Dhule said that they had made an appeal to the people to return to their homes and start daily activities. "We are providing food packets to those who are unable to cook food. We are also conducting bridge building exercise with the citizens of this village,"Ramkumar said. He added that the police has arrested 25 accused and 15 others would be nabbed soon.

The police has asked the local shopkeepers and flour mills to keep cater to people's needs. "We also decided to have meeting with the students of the village school. We had already sent a message to the students via friends and relatives that they have nothing to fear and should attend classes," said another police officer.

Terming the lynching incident unfortunate, Ahire said the police has to play a vital role in instilling confidence among the youths through coercive actions to avoid Reinpada turning into a permanent Ghost town.
