Following a call from DNA, Pune's Dhole Patil Road ward officer Sandeep Dhole took prompt action in clearing the garbage on the footpath outside Shreevatsa, attached to the Sassoon Hospital wall. The footpath leading to the subway was full of filth and garbage.
Since that patch of footpath has the hospital wall on one side it was being used by pedestrians as a urinating wall and to throw garbage.
When questioned about the cleanliness and maintenance of the subway, Dhole admitted that it was his ward’s responsibility. He assured to visit the spot himself and take necessary action by sending a team to get the spot cleaned.
As promised by the ward officer, the work was undertaken on Friday morning.
