The sessions court on Tuesday is about to decide on the fate of two lovers who were separated by the law. The judgment day also happens to coincide with Valentine's Day.
The girl's family had filed a case against the boy under the POCSOA Act.
The 20-year-old boy from Badlapur had fallen in love with a girl hailing from the Western suburbs after getting to know each other on social media in 2013. On the day the case was registered, the duo had met each other at a pizza joint. It was then that the girl's family reached the spot and started assaulting the girl. They forcibly took her to the Amboli police station and registered a false FIR against the boy. Since the girl was 15 years old, a POCSOA case was registered against the boy and his friend.
Months later, the girl's family decided to get her married, but she ran away to the accused. Her mother, then got both of them married.
Advocates Tahera Shaikh and Yakub Shaikh, who were appearing on behalf of the accused said, "Things were revealed when the girl came along with her 6-month-old child and entered the dock to record her statement. She informed the court that she loved the boy and was happily married to him. "
The court is likely to pass its verdict in the case on Valentine's Day. The defence advocates are expecting positive orders in the case.
