The 35-year-old watchman allegedly showed them porn clips and indulged into sexual abuse, the Kopri police have arrested the accused
In a shocking incident, a 32-year-old watchman allegedly raped and molested two 10-year-old girls in the watchman's cabin of Thane municipal school after showing porn videos to them. The watchman was arrested after the two girls informed their parents about the incident.
The cops during their investigation found 376 pornographic videos on his cellphone.
According to police, Vikas Chavan (35) who was posted as a watchman at the Thane Municipal Corporation school in Kopri village at Thane East, allegedly locked the two girls of class V in the watchman's cabin and showed them pornographic videos. Chavan later removed their school uniform and sexually abused the girls. The cops revealed that he was married and had two daughters himself.
The mother of one of the girls from Anand Nagar area in Kopri approached the cops and filed a complaint against the watchman, after her daughter revealed the entire incident of sexual abuse.
"The accused pulled the girls inside the watchman's cabin and locked the door as he lured them of showing them a cellphone but instead, he showed them pornographic clips and sexually abused them. He later threatened the girls and asked them to leave," said a Kopri police officer. "The girls were afraid of the threat of the watchman, but one of the girls revealed to her mother, after which she filed the complaint against the matchman," further added the Kopri police officer.
"We have arrested the accused under sections 376(D) (1) for rape by custodian of children's institution, 342 for wrongful confinement, 506(2) for criminal intimidation, 354(A) for molestation under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO) Act," said Manikrao Jadhav, investigation officer, Kopri police station.
"During the investigation, we found 376 pornographic videos from the seized cellphone of the watchman. He has been remanded into police custody till August 31, after we produced him before the Thane Sessions Court," said Jadhav. Jadhav further added that: "We are investigating whether or not he indulged into sexual abuse of any other minor girl as he was posted on contractual basis at the school."
