Radha Ashtami or Radha Jayanti is celebrated the birth of Radha, the divine consort of Lord Krishna. Devotees worship Radha on this day with a lot of enthusiasm and devotion.  This day is also the day of the selfless and admirable bond of love between Radha and Krishna. Radha Jayanti falls on the eighth day (Ashtami) of the Bhadrapada.

Radha Ashtami: Significance

Radha Ashtami is very important for people who follow the Hindu religion. Devotees of Radha Rani celebrate this day with fervour. Exactly 15 days after the celebration of Janmashtami, the festival of Radha Ashtami honours the anniversary of the birth of Lord Krishna.

She is believed to have been the adopted child of Vrishbhanu and Kirti. Both Radha Ashtami and Radha Jayanti are observed. The states of North India observe this day with considerable splendour.
