On the lines of Jaisalmer Desert Safari, a Desert Park is being built at Kishan Bagh area spread over 320 acres of Jaipur city in Vidhyadhar Nagar. One of the dream projects of chief minister Vasundhara Raje, the work is being carried out rapidly at  the safari. The trees have been planted in Kishan Bagh by bringing different clay dirt from different districts across the state. 

The project is going to be inaugurated soon and subsequently, the park will be opened for the visitors.

Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) has spent Rs 8 crore to construct the Desert Park and the aim is to develop it as the first-of-its-kind in the country and in the world. Situated in the rich ecosystem of the Aravali mountain range, the project is being developed by film maker and environmentalist Pradeep Kishan. Moreover, all the civil works are being done at the JDA level and 18 types of trees have been planted there.

Architect of Kishan Bagh Desert Park Pradeep Kishan said, “Kishanbagh Desert Park is spread over 320 acres of area, but recently it is being constructed in 68 hectare area. Specially, the trees from Jaisalmer, Barmer, Sirohi, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Chittorgarh, Banswara among others are being planted and specially grown plants are being brought to the park.”

Kishan added that for the trees that are grown on the mountains, a sample of mountain is being brought in order to plant them. The desert soil is being brought for the trees that are grown in the desert area. In addition to making Green Valley in the park, jogging track is also being planned.
