Eoin Morgan is on the brink of bagging a mammoth feat for himself during Kolkata Knight Riders' (KKR) opening match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 against Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday (September 23).

Morgan will be chasing a record to become the first England cricketer to hit 300 sixes in T20 cricket.

The England cricketer is currently sitting third on the list of cricketers of most sixes in the shortest format of the game with 111. Eoin also has 218 sixes to his names which ranks him 6th in ODIs.

Going into tonight's match, Morgan will be just 6 big hits away from adding yet another big accolade to this name.

Earlier in the day, Kolkata Knight Riders skipper Dinesh Karthik won the toss and welcomed Rohit Sharma's Mumbai Indians to bat first.

Mumbai got off to a poor start after Shivam Mavi produced a steller second over of the match and dismissed Quinton de Kock (1) while bagging a wicket-maiden for himself.

However, Suriyakumar Yadav and Rohit Sharma then formed an explosive partnership for Mumbai and kept the scoreboard ticking before Mogan's quick hands helped KKR break the partnership via run-out.

Yadav boosted Mumbai's innings with a dashing 28-ball 47 on the night.
