In the directive, it had been stated that the district magistrates should ensure that from villages to cities, the shelterless should be provided home at the night and effective monitoring should be done in this regard.
As Northern India continues to reel under a cold wave, the Uttar Pradesh government today directed all the district magistrates (DM) to ensure the shelterless get temporary shelters during the night.
"A directive has been issued by the chief secretary Atul Kumar Gupta to all the DMs to ensure temporary shelters to the shelterless in the night, to save them from the cold," relief commissioner KK Sinha said.
In the directive, it had been stated that the DMs should ensure that from villages to cities, the shelterless should be provided home at the night and effective monitoring should be done in this regard.
