Industrialist Ratan Tata honoured with the Maharashtra government’s ‘Udyog Ratna’ award at his residence today by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and deputy CMs Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar. Ratan Tata was conferred with the Udyog Ratna award at his residence today as he won't be attending the award ceremony tomorrow due to his ill health.

The Maharashtra government has decided to introduce the prestigious Udyog Ratna Award starting this year, continuing the history of the Maharashtra Bhushan Award, which is the highest state presented to distinguished individuals. 

The aim of the Maharashtra Udyog Ratna Awards is to honour those people and groups who have significantly impacted Maharashtra's business, industry, education, real estate, tourism, financial services, fashion, electronics, agriculture, banking, IT, foods, healthcare, and other sectors.
