No plans to ground Dreamliners 787, says Air India

Air India has made it clear that it has no plans to ground Dreamliner 787 as there are no safety issues involved.

Rohit Nandan, chairman and managing director, Air India, told reporters that both Boeing and Director General Civil Aviation (DGCA) assured that there were no safety issues. He said the incidents could be related to software or some small technical matter. "Air India had discussions with Boeing team and our engineers are in touch with them," he said.

Rohit said a committee was looking into the issue related to Dreamliners and it would submit its report in 18 months.

To another query, he said Air India need to replace 9 ATRs and 19 A320s.
