The Health Ministry has boycotted the use of biscuits in meetings. In a circular issued by the ministry, it has urged the officials to use healthy snacks instead of biscuits during meetings.

The circular reads, "The Health Minister wants healthy snacks to be kept in meetings and boycott the use of biscuits.

"The biscuits will not be available now in the office canteen and snacks like roasted chana, dates, almonds etc will be served in the meetings."

The circular also stresses on the earlier order on the usage of plastic water bottles during meets.

According to the health ministry order, plastic water bottles will not be used during ministry meetings.

Health Minister, Dr Harsh Vardhan has been widely appreciated due to this decision.

The netizens took to twitter to praise Dr. Vardhan. The biscuits have been globally criticized for the usage of maida and vanaspati ghee during their production.

These ingredients further leads to bad cholesterol levels and high-blood pressure. Thus, even in a country like India which is famous for the snack 'chai-biscuit', the biscuits are now included in the category of junk food.
