Crime branch sleuths of Jammu and Kashmir police raided the office of Regional Transport Officer (RTO) in Jammu and arrested a cashier and seven agents for alleged misappropriation of government funds, police said on Sunday.
The raid was conducted following complaints that government money is being misappropriated on a large scale at the RTO office by issuing licences and collecting registration fees and token tax on the basis of fake documents, crime branch SSP JP Singh said.
The team headed by Additional SP (crime) Kulbir Singh also seized illegal documents from the RTO office, he said.
