    DUSU Election Result 2023: The counting of votes for 4 central panel posts is underway and the results Delhi University Students Union elections 2023 are expected to be announced soon.

    As per latest updates, ABVP continues to lead after the 12th round of counting. before the final completion of counting and announcement of the results, ABVP supporters have already begun to celebrate. Twenty-four candidates are in the fray for four posts -- president, vice president, secretary and joint secretary.

    Prominent students' groups contesting the DUSU polls are RSS' students wing Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Congress-affiliated National Students' Union of India (NSUI), CPI (M)-backed Students' Federation of India (SFI) and CPI (ML) Liberation-affiliated All India Students' Association (AISA).

    Voting in Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) elections were conducted after a gap of three years.

    Chander Shekhar, the chief election officer overseeing the polls, reported a voter turnout of 42 percent. Approximately one lakh students were eligible to participate in the election, PTI reported.

    Student concerns revolved around core issues, including fee hikes, the scarcity of affordable accommodations, bolstered security measures during college events, and provisions for menstrual leaves.

    Beyond the student body, political organizations viewed these elections as a barometer of youth sentiment, especially given their proximity to the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. The National Students' Union of India (NSUI), affiliated with the Congress party, claimed victories in 17-day colleges, while the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), backed by the RSS, asserted wins in 34 colleges.
